StratoKey’s flagship product is a cloud data protection solution that acts as an encryption gateway to the cloud. It intercepts communications between users and cloud software-as-a-service applications to encrypt private content.

HQ: Santa Clara, California.

11. Clearwater Compliance

The company provides a range of software and tools, educational events, and consultation services.

9. Veracode

Veracode's automated cloud-based solution detects and remediates critical vulnerabilities in all of a system's applications. HQ: Burlington, Massachusetts.

8. Forcepoint

Raytheon also acquired fire-wall specialist Stonesoft from Intel Security, combining the three companies and allowing it to expand into cloud and hybrid capabilities. HQ: Austin, Texas

7. FireEye

This year, FireEye announced it has acquired iSight for US$200 million to boost its cyber intelligence offerings for governments and businesses.

AVG was the highest ranking firm not based in the US.
