At yesterday's Computex Press Launch ASUS lifted the lid on an impressive array of products, including this intriguing smartphone/tablet hybrid device dubbed the Asus Padfone.
As is the way at Computex, the only Padfone unit was hidden behind a scrum of media.
Here we see both the phone and the space in the back of the tablet that it docks into.
The docking process is quite simple, and yes there is a hole designed to allow the smartphone camera to continue to work when docked.
There are still many unanswered questions about the Padfone which we'll endeavour to chase down at the ASUS booth tomorrow.
The U series initially didnt catch our attention, as we thought it was just a very sexy netbook.
It has a slim unibody aluminium chassis and this distinctive metallic lid.
What blew us away is that inside this sliver of metal sits not an Atom but an Ultra Low Voltage Second Generation Core i7. Colour us impressed.
The slick mirror finish demands further investigation but the keyboard is looking fantastic.
