POS POS has appointed Kelli Ponting as their IBM vendor development manager. Ponting comes with a wealth of experience, having managed the IBM brand within distribution for several years.

POS POS, a distributor of retail technologies, recently signed a contract with IBM to be their distributor for the Retail Store Solutions (RRS) range in Australia.

GN Netcom (Jabra brand) has appointed Harold Melnick as the head of Marketing and Alliances for the ANZ region. Melnick has more than 25 years of global experience in technical sales, marketing, business development, channel management, product management and product development.

Prior joining Jabra, Melnick held multiple global roles with Microsoft for approximately 15 years.

Security vendor WatchGuard has appointed Robert Collins as systems engineer – Southern Region based in Melbourne. In this position, Collins will be responsible for supporting WatchGuard’s partners and customers in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia, by providing regional architecture design and solution support services.

Collins joins WatchGuard with more than ten years experience in the IT industry. Most recently, Collins worked at Trend Micro as systems engineer – pre-sales, enterprise.

Distributor Samsung Communications has announced the appointment of Paul Bailye as national channel manager.

In this position, Paul will have primary responsibility for the development and growth of Samsung Communications’ business with the M2 Commander channel.

Based in Melbourne, Paul moves to Samsung Communications from Unity Systems, which is a business unit of Distribution Central – an Avaya distributor.

In his new role, Ajoy Ghosh will act as the security lead consultant for Logica Australia with a focus on national security and critical infrastructure.

Since joining the company in 2007, Ghosh has already played a key role in several major security projects, and will now provide CISO duties for Logica’s public sector, energy & utilities, and transport & logistics clients.

Dell Australia and New Zealand has appointed Tertius Bezuidenhout as solutions and services director in its Large Enterprise segment.

He will be responsible for managing a team of technologists that support, deliver and represent Dell solutions to businesses who employ more than 500 people.

Bezuidenhout has nearly 20 years’ experience in the I.T. industry. Prior to joining Dell, he worked for Ingram Mirco, first as a solutions architect for its West Australia region and then as the leader of its Data Centre business unit based in Sydney.

Websense, has appointed Adam Bradley as managing director for Australia and New Zealand based in Sydney. Bradley has more than 15 years of experience in the IT industry and will be responsible for driving Websense’s sales operation in the A/NZ region to support company and channel partner business growth. Bradley originally joined Websense in 2002.

Bridge Point Communications has appointed Fernando Gonzalez to the newly created role of Data Centre Practice Manager.

In his role, Gonzalez will be responsible for aligning the new data centre practice with the complementary existing networking and security aspects of the business. He will develop business in the areas of compute, storage and virtualisation.

Gonzalez holds extensive qualifications including an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering from North Sydney Technical College and a range of VMware, EMC, IBM and Brocade certifications. Recently, he has added the VMware Technical Sales Professional (VTSP) certification to his previous VMware VSP and VCP certifications.

Lenovo has appointed Robert van der Harst to the role of Tier-2 channel business development manager for Lenovo New Zealand.

Van der Harst will have shared responsibility for increasing Lenovo’s brand awareness throughout the New Zealand channel and for managing relationships with Lenovo’s existing channel partners.

Mark Spencer has joined RSA in the role of ANZ distribution manager. Based in Sydney, Spencer takes over the ranks from Gavin Jarvis has taken on the Asia Pacific and Japan partner program role.

Nick Kirby has been appointed the Asia Pacific sales manager for UK security integrator, ITC. Kirby joins ITC with information and communications sales experience gained from companies including Uecomm, Commander Communications and Cable & Wireless.
