Buzzy’s templates enable SMBs to drag and drop into existing bespoke apps for tasks such as staff schedules, field sales, collaboration and project management.

As SaaS, apps are accessible on any device, and they integrate with DropBox, Google Docs, Stripe payments and even IBM’s Watson AI.

Coviu, Sylvia Pfeiffer

This CSIRO spinout makes launching a HD videoconference session as easy as making a phone call.

The customisable cloud system works through a web browser on any device without plug-ins. Using its Rest API or SDK, Coviu integrates into web, mobile and desktop apps with features such as video consultation, use-based billing, and appointment bookings. It also has document, screen and camera sharing, signatures, annotations and zoom on content. Applications include remote doctors’ consultations, education, legal and government.

CurrencyVue, Matt Tyrrell

CurrencyVue is a cloud platform providing straight-through processing for foreign exchange into orders and tax invoices from ERP, such as Dynamics, MYOB and SAP.

It provides a real-time, low-touch way for business leaders to see their foreign currency position at any time.

“CFOs are pulling out their hair managing forward currency contracts through a mix of ERP, talking to their banks and updating contracts on spreadsheets; they can’t move quickly when the market changes.”

DoneSafe, Matthew Browne

DoneSafe is a familiar dashboard that surfaces immediately relevant information about health, safety audit and management issues. Hosted on AWS, it tracks incidents and return-towork, field safety observations, and hazard and chemical registers.

“We wanted to make sure that people could access learning in the product; the training of people and recording; and ability to load policies, procedures and other forms, so they were available in the fi eld when you need it,” says Browne.

Drawboard, Alistair Michener

Following the success of PDF productivity app Drawboard, BullClip is a secure PDF document management and mark-up platform that makes it as easy to annotate a digital blueprint as if it was the real thing.

Written for Windows Surface, users edit and share drawings and sync notes in real-time. It has “automated version control, annotation layering and powerful rendering speeds. All the while feeling like pen and paper.” Drawboard will soon have options for team discussions, issue resolution and attachments.

Myagi provides frontline sales and service staff with knowledge, confidence and context to deliver memorable customer experiences. The big data startup for retail associates has 100 customers globally.

“We’re in the midst of a transition to an experience-based economy. People want a memorable emotional experience when they go into a store. We use and learn from the data to intelligently design content that users will actually consume.”

NetCrypt, Regan McKay

NetCrypt is a cloud file sync-and-share data security service that secures data in 256-bit AES encrypted vaults. It ringfences an organisation’s data on user end-points, servers and in the cloud.

“The problem with other products is that they store the file on a user’s end-point, which is unencrypted and unsecure.” To access familiar network drives on NetCrypt, the user authenticates with Windows Vault and a licence management server.

Open Orbit, Niranjan Deodhar

The Six Sigma tool speeds business transformations. Its self-learning algorithm guides users, solves business problems and recommends course corrections. It is for complex projects in sectors such as financial services, utilities and healthcare.

“The integrated, hosted platform drives faster process improvement, sharper insights, stronger cases for change, lower project costs and more sustainable change.” HSBC analysed its mortgage marketing campaign in four weeks instead of a customary three-to-four months.

SalesPreso is a presentation software backed by data analytics that personalises content and integrates with CRM to deliver a focused presentation.

SecureCo, Paul Bird

SecureCo is a hosted, secure platform with data storage for simpler payment card processes (PCI DSS). SecureCo now enables contact centres to securely accept credit card payments over the phone by splitting off the tone keypad presses (DTMF) from the voice channel.

“PCI DSS is a signifi cant problem because penalties for noncompliance are steep, and banks can take away your ability to accept credit cards, which is akin to a death sentence.”

SpotCap, Lachlan Heussler

SpotCap draws on global sources of funds to vault SMBs over short-term liquidity humps.

The cloud platform’s proprietary machine learning algorithms evaluate a business’ creditworthiness to provide an unsecured, line of credit of $10,000 to $250,000 in real-time.

Reseller partners can use it to buy stock, or refer prospects to close a deal.

“Our mission is to empower SMBs with tailored fi nance. Applying for bank fi nance can take up to 25 hours of [personnel] time; we cut it to fi ve minutes.”

Stax takes the guesswork out of AWS management, suppresses costs, and lift s compliance and security.

“Big companies have problems going to AWS,” Slutzkin says. “Enterprises can grow faster, but they bump into issues as they push down control to product and development teams. There’s oft en a big spike in costs: big organisations need a tool to manage it.”

Stax charges out through resellers as a percentage of the end customer’s monthly AWS spend.
