Samsung last night officially released its Galaxy Note smartphone-tablet hybrid to the Australian market. The device went on sale in the US and Europe late last year.
Samsung is calling the phone the first in a new 'smartphone-tablet' hybrid category. As yet, LG is the only other phone maker to release a phone of this kind. It debuted its Optimus Vu with a 5in screen last month.
The Galaxy Note includes a stylus ‘S Pen’ which allows users to sketch, take notes and annotate images and files on screen.
Samsung had a sketch artist on hand to test out the applications designed for use by the stylus.
This is a sketch of PC & Tech Authority journalist Chris Jager. We think it looks less Chris, more badly-aging Javier Bardem.
The phone holds 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal memory, and is powered by a 1.4GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor. It is 9.6mm thick and carries a 2MP front-facing camera and 8MP camera on the back.
