Google today unveiled its Pixel Chromebook notebook. It's a 1.5kg, aluminium coated Intel-based portable that offers 1TB Google Drive storage for three years.
The Chromebook Pixel is three to four times more expensive than existing Chromebook models. It is selling for $US1299 for the wi-fi only version and $US1499 for an LTE variant. Google declined to comment on Australian availability.
The device offers a touch screen with Corning Gorilla glass. It has an industry-leading 239 pixels per inch density.
Pixel runs Chrome OS on an 1.8GHz Intel Core i5 processor and features 4GB RAM and 32GB (wi-fi model) and 64GB (LTE model) flash storage.
The company boasted it is optimised for speed and "boots up in seconds and never slows down."
