What? How can the world’s number one smartphone operating system be a screw up? Given its open source nature, and infinite customisability, smartphone vendors such as HTC, Samsung and others disguise their phone’s Android roots with custom interfaces. And then there’s Amazon, which forked Android for its Kindle Fire. Finally, Facebook has just plastered itself across Android with its Home skin. It’s said Google makes its money through related services on Android, such as Search and Maps. Let’s hope so.
