A handful of Apple customers gathered outside its Sydney store this morning in protest of alleged worker abuse in the company's Chinese manufacturing factories, such as the infamous Foxconn.
Protestor Sally Hill gave Apple employees petitions with 250,000 signatures from around the world. The group is urging the company to produce an 'ethical' iPhone 5.
The protest originated in Washington DC on change.org. Protestors want Apple to develop a worker protection strategy in response to reported abuse in Chinese supplier factories.
The petition will also be delivered to Apple stores in Washington DC, New York, San Francisco, London, and Bangalore.
Hill told CRN the protesters were all 'huge Apple fans'. She said the protest was about protecting worker's rights rather than 'hating on' Apple.
