Targus has launched a collection of cases for the iPad. Available in a variety of designs, the iPad collection incorporates protective materials that offer hardware protection, claimed Targus.

Available in black and brown, the Hughes Leather Portfolio Slipcase ($99.95) is for the stylish tech lover. The Crave Slipcase ($39.95) is made of durable weather-resistant material, which has been abrasion tested for durability, claimed Targus.

The A7 Neoprene Sleeve comes in black, blue and plum, ($39.95) and suits a variety of personal styles. While the Unofficial Laptop Messenger for Mac ($79.95) comfortably accommodates 13-inch Macbook computers along with a removable custom built sleeve for iPads, the vendor has claimed.

Targus has launched its Numeric Keypad into Officeworks stores around Australia. Targus said the Numeric Keypad was “one of the strongest selling computing accessories” in Targus’ accessory range last year.

Canon Australia has released the IXUS 300 HS. This digital compact camera is the first of the IXUS series to offer a high-sensitivity system, known as Canon’s HS SYSTEM, incorporating a new CMOS sensor with Canon’s DiG!C 4 image processor, claimed Canon. The IXUS 300 HS camera also has high definition (HD) movie-shooting capabilities with a new Super Slow Motion movie function, allowing users to capture memories in stunning video, as well as in stills, claimed Canon.

LG has released its latest range of Infinia TVs. LG has claimed that the LX9500the is the “world’s first” full LED backlit 3D LCD TV. The LX9500 is also the first 3D-capable TV to support the Multi Picture Format, the 3D picture standard that enables users to create and enjoy 3D content effortlessly, LG has claimed.

Kogan Technologies this week launched a new Deluxe LCD TV range. The range is available in 32” ($749) (pictured) and 42” ($999) sizes and is available direct from Kogan.

The sets are 120Hz and 240Hz respectively, making them ideal for fast moving action, claimed Kogan. Both are LG Full HD panels with Kogan MotionMax image processing, and feature a built in PVR to allow for recording and playback of digital TV to a USB flash disk or hard drive.

Quantum Corp announced the availability of its new all-inclusive DXi4500 disk backup appliances this week.

The DXi4510 and DXi4520 provide non-disruptive deduplication, helping small- and medium-size businesses (SMBs) and remote offices address their backup needs, claimed Quantum.

Both DXi4500 models come bundled with all DXi software licenses needed to support backup – including in VMware environments – deduplication and replication. Prices start at $12,500 MSRP.

Check Point has launched the UTM-1 Edge N and Safe@Office N appliances for small businesses. The unified threat management appliances deliver enterprise-class security, including firewall, Intrusion Prevention (IPS), anti-virus, anti-spam, web filtering and remote access connectivity, claimed Check Point.

Each appliance comes with built-in management, security updates and support.

Electronics company Hisense Australia has launched the T28 Series television for rooms that don’t require a larger flat screen, claimed Hisense.

The T28 Series features thin edge lit LED technology and allows playback via USB, so customers can play Divx and Mpeg movies and music through their TV, claimed Hisense.

It includes a three-year in-home replacement warranty.

The T28 skinny LED TV 19-inch and 22-inch television sets in May followed by the 26 inch and 32 inch models in June and the 40 inch model on July 1, 2010.

LaCie has announced the addition to its Rugged family of mobile hard drives - the LaCie Rugged USB 3.0.

The LaCie Rugged USB 3.0 has speeds of up to 110 MB/s - three times the speed of USB 2.0, the company has claimed. The speed enhancement allows users to transfer one HD movie in less than 3 minutes (versus more than 8 minutes in USB 2.0), claimed Lacie.

It is housed in the rugged casing designed by Neil Poulton, a unique scratch-resistant aluminum shell, internal anti-shock absorbers and a shock-resistant rubber bumper to better protect files against everyday blunders, claimed Lacie.
