Yeap climbs Symantec ladder
Security vendor Symantec has looked to promote internally to boost its fortunes across Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) after Philip Yeap assumed the role of vice-president for marketing in the region.

In his new role, Yeap will lead the region’s marketing initiatives to build Symantec’s “market presence and establish the company’s position as a global leader in infrastructure software, enabling businesses and consumers to have
confi dence in a connected world”.

Yeap has more than 14 years of industry experience and in his previous position as senior director for marketing was responsible for Symantec’s segment and product marketing, as well as planning and management of go-to-market strategies across 13 markets in Asia Pacific.

In his new role, he will add Japan to his regional portfolio and will now report to Enrique Salem, group president of worldwide sales and marketing.

Bernard Kwok, senior vice president for the Asia Pacific and Japan region, said: “We are pleased to offer our congratulations to Philip in his expanded role.

Philip has been instrumental in driving innovative marketing programs and
systems to successfully build strong pipelines for Symantec.
