What network technology do you specialise in?
Vendor-wise, Cisco networking. Everything from the LAN and WAN through to the data centre.
When did your company first get involved in this area?
When we started in 2004.
Which credentials do you have that apply to networking?
We are a Cisco Premier Partner with Collaboration Express, Security Express and NextGen Firewall certifications at a company level. Our staff are a mix of CCNA, CCNP and CCIE qualified.
Who are your main distributors for networking technology?
Ingram Micro and Dicker Data.
What cool or interesting recent developments in the networking space have you head of lately?
SDN is pretty interesting – yet to be proven, I suppose, but something to keep an eye on. The Internet of Things, Internet of Everything is a bit gimmicky but definitely the idea of more and more things being connected and feeding data back that can be used is also very cool, if you ask me.
Can you tell us about a recent networking deployment you have done?
Recently, we worked with a company that provides kind of an anonymous Facebook-style service. A social networking environment that you can connect to via a secure link that keeps you entirely anonymous. You can get online and share your views without anyone tracing them back to you.
What is driving customers’ networking projects?
A lot of business we're getting is from people looking at how they can use more publicly accessible services, and more cloud services, [and this] is driving people back to a focus on the network.
