What backup and disaster solutions do you deploy?

We offer a solution called MAX Backup & Disaster Recovery. It is a comprehensive software platform tailored to the specific needs of managed service providers (MSPs) delivering BDR-as-a-service. It provides a mountable image locally plus full remote protection. 

When did your company first get involved in backup and disaster recovery?

MAX Backup & Disaster Recovery started in 2004. In the last five years we have expanded our global operations, and today we support thousands of MSPs from around the world, and a growing tech support, sales and marketing team based in our Adelaide office.

What are your backup and DR credentials?

MAX Backup & Disaster Recovery uses private key encryption that is owned by the end customer or MSP, thus meeting privacy and security needs. This ‘zero knowledge’ approach has no backdoor to access the data, and everything is encrypted before it leaves the source computer. 

Who are your main distributors for backup and DR?

We only sell through a wide partner network of managed service providers and IT support business. 

Have you heard about any cool backup and DR tech recently?

Recovery to public and private clouds is the latest option that really offers something unique and beneficial to customers. If something goes down on the local network, we have you fully covered. But should the unthinkable happen, you can be back in business by leveraging cloud computing power.  

Can you tell us about a recent backup and DR project?

The latest deployments have all included use of Azure as a recovery target. MAX Backup & Disaster Recovery has the full local image with retention history, but the added layer of Azure has been enabled for DR testing – so that end customers can be assured that their business will continue should the unthinkable happen. 

What is driving customers’ backup and DR projects?

We are in the risk management business. The risk of downtime. Our roots are in super efficient online backup and recovery for servers. In the past two years, our product has transformed to do so much more; addressing the disaster recovery and security scenarios that companies face.

Ultimately in the SMB market, backup & disaster recovery protects people’s livelihoods and their legacy. Our job, collectively with our MSP partners, is keeping those legacies out of harm’s way. This is why we do what we do.
