ShoreTel has appointed Jamie Romanin to the newly created position of sales manager for Australia and New Zealand. Romanin joins from rival vendor Avaya, where he worked as SMB channel manager A/NZ.
In January last year, ShoreTel formally launched its channel across Australia and New Zealand. At the time, the vendor appointed resellers such as Fast Track Communications, Qtech, PureTel, PTS Communications, ITT Communications, HEDLOC, Davicom, On-Line Communications Systems and CCG3 Communications.
Tony Warhurst was chosen as ShoreTel managing director for SE Asia, and said at the time: “We have incentive programs for resellers to encourage customer satisfaction and two ShoreTel employees covering the region.”
The vendor has now expanded its team by appointing Romanin, who has more than 10 years of experience in the Internet telephony and networking industry.
Alongside ShoreTel’s two distributors and 23 resellers gained since its establishment of the Australian office, Romanin will focus on growing the business further in the region, strengthening relationships with existing distributors and the channel and increasing ShoreTel’s presence in the enterprise market.
Romanin began his career at Telstra’s business and government unit in the late ’90s before moving to Matrium, which specialises in telecommunications test equipment and call centre solutions. There he worked as an account manager in NSW and was promoted to Victorian sales manager, expanding Matrium’s business further.
Jamie then moved to Zultys Technologies as regional sales manager and together with Warhurst grew Zultys’ business in Australia to position it as a tier one VoIP player, and successfully won a number of deals ahead of bigger rivals.
