What enterprise storage brands do you specialise in?

Hitachi Ventara, Dell EMC, NetApp, Pure Storage, HPE and IBM.

When did your company first get involved in this area?

Enterprise storage was the foundation of the business when it began in 2002.

What are your storage credentials?

Perfekt’s founders came out of HDS and EMC, bringing their knowledge and skills of enterprise storage with them. Perfekt’s engineers are technically certified with all of the above vendors in both design and implementation.

Which distributor do you use for storage?

This varies depending on the vendor, some of which are direct.  For others we would use Ingram Micro, Arrow, Dicker Data and Tech Data.

Have you heard about any cool developments in the storage space recently?

Active-active architectures and flash acceleration are driving discussion. The hot topic in flash these days is the adoption of NVMe technology in flash enterprise storage systems. NVMe is expected to be the successor to SCSI based protocols (SAS and SATA) for flash media.

Can you tell us about a recent deployment you have done?

We are currently working with a very large educational institute on a complete refresh of their enterprise storage. This is a project that will consolidate their environment into two main sites which will be running active-active storage, in order to provide redundancy through high availability and disaster recovery.

What is driving customers’ storage-based projects?

There is growth in the amount of information organisations are storing due to new applications associated with their digital transformations. This includes projects like data analytics and IoT, which are both data intensive.  While for some customers this is done in cloud storage there are still many customers that believe the information asset is core to their business and is best stored on-prem.
