Red Hat restructures A/NZ channel
Red Hat has restructured its channel resources across Australia and New Zealand to increase the open source provider’s amount of channel business.

The Australian and New Zealand channel currently contributes to 40 percent of Red Hat’s local business, growing from 30 percent over the last 12 months. The firm now wants to increase the proportion of revenue that goes through the channel to at least 60 percent.

Red Hat has restructured its channel resources and will introduce Craig Neilsen as a new member of its team. Nielsen was previously a sales manager for SumTotal Australia and New Zealand.

Max McLaren, managing director of Red Hat in Australia and New Zealand, said the firm has been seeing more traction in the channel, with more partners getting involved with Linux because customers are asking about it.

“Currently, a large number of businesses in A/NZ are using or porting to Linux, reinforcing the enormous opportunities to develop certified products on Linux. As the market leader, Red Hat is 100 percent dedicated to bringing compelling open source solutions and support to the market,” he said.
