Telstra has revealed a June launch for Cloud Gateway - a product that allows customers to securely connect to multiple cloud environments.
"The innovative one-to-many 'gateway' model connects an IP network service to the cloud with data carriage, cross connect in the hosting data centre, configuration and support," announced the telco.
"This means organisations can simply and securely access their chosen cloud platform from around the world, with increased application performance via Telstra’s IP network."
Upon launch. Australian customers will be able to access Amazon Web Services, IBM SoftLayer, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office 365 and VMware vCloud Air. Internationally, access will initially be limited to AWS and SoftLayer.
More infrastructure-as-a-service and software-as-a-service products would be added to the Cloud Gateway in the future, according to Telstra.
Telstra global products and solutions executive director Philip Jones said that with hybrid clouds becoming increasingly popular with customers, having a "single touchpoint" like Cloud Gateway would "reduce IT complexity".
“These include managing multiple vendors, portals and contracts, while trying to maintain a high level of security, performance and operational efficiency," he said.
"Telstra is very well positioned to help customers with hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, as we bring the cloud and the network together. The network is the fundamental piece of the puzzle that helps provide a secure and reliable application experience."
Earlier this month, Telstra - as a solutions provider - was admitted as a CRN MVP for the second consecutive year as a recognition of its maintenance of top-level vendor relationships.
