Impact Systems has signed an exclusive distribution deal with hardware vendor NCS Technologies in Australia and New Zealand.
Impact will be offering the Cirrus LT laptop, a zero-client device aimed at high-security customers, such as government, defence and health.
The device was previously available directly from NCS in Australia and New Zealand. Impact will offer the Cirrus LT for the first time through the channel.
“As far as we’re aware, there’s no other zero client devices available [in the channel],” said Agamalis.
“This is an open opportunity for our resellers to this space because of the margins involved. Just about everything in IT is saturated, but with this product, there’s an opportunity for a clear run at making a decent profit.”
Agamalis says there’s already an interest for zero-client devices in Australia, with NCS being adopted by some high-level government departments.
Impact will also continue to use the NCS branding when selling the Cirrus LT.
The Cirrus LT runs all of its applications from data centres, whether it be on-prem, cloud or hybrid. The computer comes with a 14-inch screen, 6-cell battery and wi-fi capabilities, and will retail between $1499 and $1799.
