One reseller boss shaved off his much-loved beard at the CRN Fast50 after-party in return for $3,000 from his channel peers that will go towards men's health causes.
Olikka managing director Michael Pascoe celebrated his company's ninth place in this year's Fast50 by declaring his beard would disappear that night for the right price.
"My beard is very, very dear to me," said Pascoe. "At the CRN awards, we decided that if we could raise $3,000 for mens health, I would shave it off – there and then."
Pascoe said that Synnex national commercial sales manager Ahmmad Issa and Vonex chief technology officer Angus Parker lobbied hard to raise the money and even purchased the razors.

"After doing the rounds at the Avnet after-party we managed to get more than $3,000 pledged by the CRN Fast50 companies and sponsors," said Pascoe.
Distribution Central national technical manager Daniel Djundjek "enthusiastically" volunteered to perform the shave at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney.
Pascoe, a former Dimension Data consultant, said the money raised through his Movember effort would go towards assisting "one million Australian men living with depression or anxiety".
Now that the deed is done, Pascoe requests those that made a pledge at the Fast50 to make good on the promise by payment on his Movember page [here]. Even if you did not pledge it is not too late to add to the tally.
