Microsoft hotshot Ignia waltzes in to Sydney and Melbourne

Microsoft Australia enterprise partner of the year Ignia is expanding from its Perth roots to open new offices in Sydney and Melbourne, and has appointed an east coast head.

The consulting company announced that the Sydney office would be operational this month, while the Melbourne branch will launch early in the new year.

"We are very excited about our recent growth and opportunities that see us working on some of Australia’s ground-breaking technology projects, particularly in the cloud and mobility space," said Ignia director Joshua Boys.

To head up the east coast presence, former Microsoft and Readify staffer Ellis Spooner has joined Ignia as associate director.

"I am very pleased to join Microsoft’s enterprise partner of the year at a time of such spectacular growth," said Spooner. "The team has been exceptionally welcoming and I look forward to building on the huge success that Ignia has achieved so far.”

According to LinkedIn, Spooner was an account manager at Microsoft and more recently NSW/ACT state manager at Readify – another award-winning Microsoft partner.

As well as industry accolades, in September Ignia placed eighth on the annual BRW Best Places to Work rankings. The company stated that it has "worked hard to develop a ‘family-first’ culture, and an environment fostering personal growth for its staff, attracting talent from all over the world".
