Nascent software-defined storage vendor Nexenta has signed an Australian distribution agreement with Bluechip Infotech.
"We were looking to extend our storage portfolio and Nexenta's SDS offerings are a perfect fit for Bluechip as it provides the opportunity to add value to our bundle offerings," said Phil Lancaster, director of enterprise at Bluechip Infotech.
"Nexenta is going to be a significant player in the market."
Nexenta is a Californian company named in CRN US' Emerging Vendors honour roll in July. A statement said that the vendor runs a 100 percent channel sales model that "already includes several Australian partners".
"Australia is a very robust market for innovative storage solutions," said Anthony Davis, Nexenta's Asia-Pacific general manager. "We look forward to sharing our success with Bluechip and their partners as we broaden our reach in Australia."
The software-defined nature of its solutions means Nexenta collaborates with other vendors such as VMware, Citrix, Intel, Dell and Cisco and "leading application and integration-focused partners for specific markets" for ability to integrate into different environments.
On Tuesday 11 November, Lancaster, Davis and Nexenta director of channel Don Lopez will host a webinar to introduce the new Bluechip Infotech partnership in Australia.
Bluechip Infotech is a distributor with branches in all the mainland state capitals. The company was formerly focused on hardware but its merger with software specialist Track IT Online in April broadened its catalogue.
