National computer repair company NCSS has gone into receivership, with urgent expressions of interest being sought for the business and assets.
PPB Advisory has stepped in as receivers and managers, following the appointment of voluntary administrators last week.
Receivers are currently working with stakeholders to understand the financial position of the company, PPB Advisory partner Brett Lord said in a statement.
Based on a statement from receivers sighted by CRN, at least some NCSS sub-agents have been told by receivers they will be paid for service calls completed following the appointment of PPB Advisory.
CRN has spoken to several HP repair agents who are concerned about the financial pressure some fellow agents with outstanding payments are experiencing.
The collapse could be doubly painful for many PC repair sub-contractors, given the major failure of another PC repair chain, AWA, earlier this year. AWS had more than 700 field service agents in Australia.
NCSS has three decades of history in Australia and supplies services and repairs to HP nationally, according to administrators. The company has offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
