Ingram Micro unveils new tool for resellers

Distributor Ingram Micro has released a software licensing tool for its channel partners.

The new Click2License "wizard" style utility has been added to Ingram's broader Techlink e-commerce website. The module allows resellers to "order licences online, create and save quotes, or request quotes from our Licensing Quote Desk experts", according to managing director Matt Sanderson.

"Where we’ve rolled out Click2License in other countries, it’s been extremely popular with resellers. It gives them the freedom to order and quote licenses online at a time that suits them. We think that’s going to be particularly helpful for SMB resellers who often need to do things after-hours," said Sanderson.

A statement from the distie said that Click2License has been a success in other countries and in Australia it "currently supports Microsoft’s Open Business software licensing programme".

Sanderson said more software vendors will be progressively added to the system.

Ingram Micro's customers can use Click2Licence using their existing Techlink credentials.
