Apple to open new Brisbane store

Apple will take the wraps off a new retail outlet in the South Brisbane store of Carindale this Saturday.

The store at Carindale Westfield will open for trade at 10am. The new location first leaked in early July after the company posted a slew of jobs ads for retail specialists.

The new store opening was confirmed later that month when the Apple logo was erected above the shopfront. Apple currently has 14 stores around Australia.

Apple's most recent new store opening saw the ribbon cut on a retail outlet in Broadway, in Sydney's central business district, nearby its flagship store on George Street.

The Carindale launch is part of an aggressive recruitment strategy by Apple locally. According to the advertisements posted on Seek, the company is gearing up to open three additional new stores in Brisbane, South Perth, South East Melbourne and Canberra.

Apple currently has outlets in Queensland's Robina and Chermside; Melbourne's Southland, Doncaster and Chadstone; and Perth's city centre.A Canberra store would mark its first entry into the area.

The job advertisements call for inventory specialists able to “take pride in being the logistical champion of the store” as well as “retail genuises.. fascinated by the way things work and the reasons they sometimes don’t".

Apple declined to comment on its plans for new outlets.
