Sony's push into mobile phones has already yielded up the Sony Xperia S, U and P smartphones – and now it's taken the wraps off another new Android Xperia phone. Dubbed the Sony Xperia Sola, it sports a 3.7-inch reality display screen, 1GHz dual-core processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread – which you’ll be able to update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in a few months..
One unique feature is what Sony calls “floating touch” navigation, which allows you to scroll through web pages without actually touching the screen: you hover your digit above the screen like a cursor, tapping when you see the link you want highlighted.
Also on board is xLOUD and 3D surround sound, as well as NFC. The Sola comes with two of Sony's NFC Smart Tags.
The pricing and release date for the Xperia Sola have yet to be revealed.
