Nokia yesterday announced the availability of its Lumia 800 smartphone in Australia, through Vodafone and Optus. Telstra is expected to follow shortly, with customers invited to register their interest in the Lumia 800 on the telco's website.
Vodafone is selling the Nokia Lumia 800 on the new 850MHz network, with plans starting at $0 on Vodafone’s $49 Plan over 24 months.
Optus offered the phone for $0 upfront on two exclusive, and limited, online deals that expired at the end of yesterday. From today the Lumia 800 will be available from Optus for $0 upfront on the $59 Optus Cap and Business Complete plans (24 month contract, min total cost $1416).
The smartphone can also be purchased outright from Dick Smith and Harvey Norman, for $628 and $627 respectively. It will be available in both retail chains from Thursday 15th March 2012.
The Nokia Lumia 800 is the latest flagship Windows Phone offering from Nokia. It packs a 33.7in 800x480 Gorilla Glass AMOLED display, 1.4Ghz processor and a 8MP Carl Zeiss camera, along with the Windows Phone 'Metro' interface.
