Google has promoted its Australian and New Zealand managing director Karim Temsamani to head up its global mobile sales.
Temsamani, who joined Google in 2007, will relocate to the company's US headquarters in Mountain View and commence in his new role from 1 October.
Temsamani will lead Google's global mobile ads strategy and Google's mobile business.
A Google spokesperson declined to comment on Temsamani's replacement but the official statement was that Google "hoped to announce the replacement soon."
Temsamani said the past three years were "extraordinary".
"There's no doubt that the future of the internet is mobile and I look forward to playing a greater part in this fast growing and exciting business," he said.
Before joining Google Temsamani was the Fairfax general magazines group director.
