Symantec has added two specialisations to its partner program refresh that comes into effect next April.
The information security vendor added enterprise and IT compliance specialisation for partners skilled in those areas.
The foundational enterprise security specialisation required partners to have sales and technical accreditations in selling and deploying Symantec enterprise security solutions including Endpoint Protection and its Advanced Business Edition and its Protection Suite.
It was available to Symantec global strategic, platinum, gold, silver, silver corporate reseller, registered and distribution partners.
The IT compliance specialisation was for partners skilled in implementing and maintaining compliance of security-configuration standards using products such as Control Compliance Suite and Security Information Manager.
Participation was restricted to partners versed in compliance and government regulations.
Symantec already made available archiving and eDiscovery, endpoint management, small and medium business and data loss prevention specialisations.
It urged partners to get their specialisation accreditations before the program started next April.
Symantec channel vice-president David Dzienciol said these additional specialisations were about "enabling partner competence" in key areas before the enhanced partner program came into effect.
