It will provide 220,000 IdeaPad S10e laptop personal computers to government secondary school students in years 9 - 12 and their teachers across New South Wales.
"We are delighted to announce our partnership with the New South Wales Department of Education and Training" said Phil Cameron, managing director Lenovo A/NZ.
"At Lenovo we believe that through this combination of our exceptionally engineered technology and the world class education provided by the NSW Department of Education and Training in New South Wales, our students, faculty administrators and teachers will be better equipped to meet the challenges of the 21st century."
Lenovo created the IdeaPad S10e laptop PC specifically for the education sector including advanced network security and remote manageability tools.
Advanced network security tools prevent users from accessing unauthorised internet content and control access to NSW DET networks.
Remote manageability tools allow NSW DET to remotely monitor and manage the devices on demand, wherever they are located.
The IdeaPad S10e provides students with the ability to collaborate on lessons, participate in video conferences, access electronic content, interact with teachers and work together in teams.
