Sydney-based partner VMTech signed up with NetApp in 2009 based on their best in class shared storage platforms and flash product set, Richard Clark, technical director, VMtech
VMtech have a long relationship with NetApp based on not only their comprehensive flash portfolio, but their complete range of enterprise storage and data protection products. NetApp are best in class for shared storage platforms and now provide a complete flash product set, with pure flash, hybrid arrays and server side solutions.
VMtech has been a NetApp partner since our inception in 2009 and we currently hold Platinum partnership status. NetApp is distributed exclusively via Distribution Central’s subsidiary SAN Systems.
Our NetApp business has been strong, even through recent periods of economic uncertainty and a rapidly changing IT market. We are, however, seeing increased disruption due to cloud computing options and changing customer demands.
A couple of great success stories for VMtech and NetApp are in our work with Mission Australia and STW Group, with video case studies available on our YouTube channel. NetApp is a channel-focused vendor and recognises the value and experience that partners such as VMtech bring. NetApp is focused on delivering quality technology and solutions, allowing us to repeatedly deliver successful outcomes for our clients.
NetApp provides the only end-to-end flash portfolio for customers wanting an integrated, easily managed solution. Utilising the NetApp FAS Clustered ONTAP storage systems, customers can deploy pure SSD, hybrid storage utilising SSD with SAS or SATA disk and server side caching in the best combination for their workloads, all with end-to-end integration and data protection.
Clustered ONTAP enables tremendous scale and non-disruptive operations, while providing unmatched storage efficiencies through de-duplication, thin-provisioning and snapshots. On top of all that, FAS is the only truly unified storage product on the market, with customers able to use NFS, SMB3, FC, FCoE and iSCSI simultaneously on the same system as required.
With the recent release of the E-Series and imminent Flash Ray product, NetApp has now expanded its portfolio even further to provide point solutions for those customers with unique, bespoke applications that need ultimate performance.
