The Westcon Group has announced that it will distribute Cloud DC OfficeBox in the Australia and New Zealand markets.
OfficeBox allows mobility of desktop environment, allowing users to access software like the Microsoft Office suite through multiple devices. Westcon said in an announcement that the global distribution deal adds to its "cloud strategy", which allows businesses "to pay for their IT as and when they consume it on an operational expenditure basis".
"We know that OfficeBox will hit the mark when it comes to providing a complete cloud-based solution for business," said Darryl Grauman, Westcon's cloud services director for Asia Pacific.
"Westcon Group is a distribution company with big ideas on bringing the Cloud to the market and the Cloud DC people share the same vision in the way IT will be acquired in the future."
Cloud DC chief Steve Robinson said that the Westcon deal was testament to the quality of OfficeBox: "Having a global distribution company on-boarding OfficeBox as a key cloud product in their stable speaks volumes on the true potential of this product."
The Cloud DC news comes on top of Westcon's acquisition of Verecloud earlier this month. The distie's ANZ boss Dave Rosenberg recently launched Westcon's own cloud marketplace.
"Our strategy is twofold: one, it is to support those who want to build cloud services themselves; and secondly, it is about providing a platform for those who want to resell cloud services," Rosenberg said at the August launch.
