Former Microsoft chief executive and now Los Angeles Clippers basketball team owner Steve Ballmer has dunked during a halftime event.
The irrepressible billionaire took to the court on Tuesday afternoon Australian time during a break in a match against Brooklyn Nets to reveal the Clippers' new mascot ‘Chuck the Condor’.
Upon his introduction, Chuck ran onto a trampoline to dunk the basketball in front of the Staples Center crowd.
Then Ballmer - who will turn 60 later this month - did the same himself, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Here's the video proof:
Ballmer took over as Microsoft boss from Bill Gates in 2000 until February 2014. In August the same year, he purchased the National Basketball Association’s Los Angeles Clippers for US$2 billion, after previous owner Donald Sterling was caught up in a racism controversy.
The passionate executive, worth an estimated US$23.1 billion, stepped down from the board of Microsoft soon after the acquisition to transfer his exuberance onto the basketball court.
