WA’s Public Transport Authority tenders for Cisco maintenance services renewal

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) of Western Australia has released a tender for the renewal of maintenance services related to Cisco SmartNet 8x5xNBD.

Cisco SmartNet 8x5xNBD is a service agreement that provides 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (Monday through Friday) technical support with next-business-day (NBD) hardware replacement for Cisco networking equipment.

The current Cisco SmartNet 8x5xNBD Maintenance Services are due to expire on 31st July 2025.

The renewal of the maintenance services will maintain uninterrupted network performance, minimise downtime, and provide access to Cisco’s technical expertise and resources.

On top of a renewed Cisco SmartNet 8x5xNBD contract covering all eligible Cisco hardware, the key features required of the service include documentation of covered devices, including serial numbers and contract terms, confirmation of service level agreement (SLA) for hardware replacement and technical support and NBD delivery of replacement hardware for failed components, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

It also includes access to Cisco’s Technical Assistance Centre (TAC) 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, for troubleshooting and issue resolution, as well as access to the latest Cisco software updates, patches, and firmware to maintain system security and performance.

The renewal will cover a 36-month period, aligning with the PTA’s existing hardware inventory of Cisco devices.

The tender closes on Tuesday 22 Jul 2025 at 11:00AM WA time.
