Anthony Pratt is currently heading up Visy's operations in the US, though is expected to return to Australia to head up the family business, with Richard believed to be in the final stages of a battle with prostate cancer. Richard has been at the reins of Visy since 1969 when his father, Leon Pratt (originally Przecicki), died.
The company continues to be embroiled in a legal battle over allegations of price-fixing along with fellow packaging giant Amcor, with Richard himself facing charges of giving false or misleading evidence to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission during an inquiry into the allegations.
Richard Pratt is believed to be the fourth richest person in Australia and the 468th richest person in the world.
