Veeam has hired Veritas Technologies’ ANZ channel chief Janet Docherty as head of channel sales for ANZ.

Docherty first confirmed the change on LinkedIn, saying she started the role this month. A Veeam spokesperson also confirmed the hire.

Docherty will report into Veeam ANZ vice president Gary Mitchell and will lead the channel team in both Australia and New Zealand.

“I’m honoured to be joining the Veeam team and leading the ANZ channel team to success,” Docherty said.

“I’m impressed by the growth that Veeam has seen over the past few years, not only in market but across the globe. I am excited to be driving this in ANZ.”

Docherty replaces Belinda Jurisic, who was promoted to APJ channel director in April after two years as ANZ channel manager.

“Exciting times for Veeam, as we have the opportunity to promote a strong leader in Belinda to APJ roles and also to attract the best talent in the industry to join our ANZ Leadership team,” Veeam APJ senior vice president Shaun McLagan said.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with Janet’s track record, as she will be instrumental in our growth.”

Docherty joined Veritas in 2015 as ANZ senior manager for channel sales after more than eight years at Symantec. She was then promoted to for channel sales in 2017.

“As Veeam is 100 percent sold through the channel, this is a hugely important component of our business and one that we’re happy to place in Janet’s experienced and capable hands,” Gary Mitchell said.

“We’re confident that Janet will flourish in the role and will achieve great success across the ANZ region.”
