Unixpac signs up data security firm
Solera Networks allows users to monitor a network through DS appliances, which work as traffic recorders, capturing and storing data including security, management and forensics, providing a record of activity.

It also includes Solera DeepSee, the first search engine for data-in motion, that provides both IT personnel and business executives the ability to search, locate, and reconstruct specific network traffic in an intuitive, web-like search format.

DeepSee is deployed in conjunction with Solera DS appliances to provide complete network visibility; enabling customers to search all their traffic, resolving any security, management and compliance issues.

"In today's high-speed networks, volumes of data flow back and forth at ever increasing speeds. It's now easier for unwanted or malicious data to pass through your network, do its intended harm and depart–unnoticed," said Tom Piotrowski, Unixpac managing director (pictured).

"Deep packet inspection appliances attempt to provide a solution to the problem, but they need smart software and a record of their network traffic to achieve this,” he added.

According to Piotrowski, Solera Networks’ appliances are important in helping clients to maintain secure and compliant networks.

"No organization can escape the evolving network security challenges we are seeing today. Preparation for attacks must include not only prevention but also mitigation,” said Steve Shillingford, CEO of Solera Networks.

He claims today’s organisations have to design for prevention and prepare for the worst by minimizing the effects of the next unknown, unplanned, unforeseen, security incident.

“Our customers are very demanding when it comes to network security solutions and expect the same from our partners,” said Shillingford.

“Unixpac has a proven track record of effectively serving the security needs of organizations throughout the Australia and New Zealand markets. We are excited to have them represent Solera Networks to further strengthen their mix of industry-leading security products," he added.
