Trend Micro reseller trial on security V6.0

The solution blocks viruses, spyware, spam, and Web threats before they reach business networks.

Features, powered by the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network, include URL filtering, Smart Scan, Smart Feedback and an enhanced version of Worry-Free Remote Manager.

Stephen West, small business manager A/NZ Trend Micro said with V6.0 resellers can add customers to their console during initial installation then spend less time with them by managing them remotely.

"Most of our resellers do run the Worry-Free product on their own network at no cost to them and use it as a training facility," he said.

"The benefit we found with 6.0 is that a lot of resellers don't want to go down the full managed service path. Remote Manager allows them to set up all their sites so that they report back to one Web console which shows a 'traffic light' status of all of their customers.

"We want our partners to get on with doing something else once it is set up.

"Remote Manager has seen a huge take up from resellers because they want to start working smarter. We are trying to help them stop wasting time when it is something they can deal with remotely," he added.

V6.0 also has USB Device Protection, Enhanced Security Dashboard and the latest Windows Essential Server Solutions: Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 (for small businesses with fewer than 75 PCs); and Microsoft Essential Business Server 2008 (for mid-size businesses with fewer than 300 PCs). 

It also protects Microsoft Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2008 users.
