Thomas Duryea Logicalis restructures the company into two areas

Thomas Duryea Logicalis has announced a business restructure that will see the company focus on digital transformation and service delivery.

The restructure follows the end of the integration of the two companies, 17 months after Logicalis Australia announced the acquisition of Thomas Duryea in December 2015.

Chief executive Michael Chanter told CRN that there were no redundancies as a result of the restructure, mentioning that the company was, in fact, hiring for some of the newly announced practices.

Under digital transformation will be four practices: Hybrid Infrastructure, Modern Workspace, Data and Analytics and Security.

Chanter explained that Hybrid Infrastructure and Modern Workplace were about the end-user experience. He said these practices were vital to providing the best result for customers.

"Because transformation projects are complex, these four practices are significant in that they provide our customers with a holistic approach to digital transformation," he said. 

The chief executive also told CRN that TDL had added a couple of things to the services portfolio to align with what the market required.

"We are refocusing around where we see a lot of customer requirements, which is in analytics and security," Chanter said.

Data and Analytics focuses on the strategic value of data, while Security will provide wrap-around defence against threats, vulnerabilities, and cyber-attacks across the company's services portfolio.

"By streamlining our business into two major areas, our value proposition is now two-fold: help our customers transform into fully digital businesses by offering them consulting and advisory services, and support their transition by allowing them to offload existing operations, using our managed services and outsourcing capabilities," Chanter said.

Service delivery practices include Managed Services, Outsourcing and Cloud Services. Christopher Lafferty has been promoted to general manager, service delivery and will be responsible for the area.

Damian Zammit has been promoted to general manager, transformation services and will be responsible for establishing and developing the four key practices that fall under digital transformation.

Zammit will be responsible for expanding the local teams' skills and capability. The company is on the lookout for two senior national practice managers who will be tasked with heading the newly formed Security and Data and Analytics practices.

TDL is also looking for new staff to support the new practices and is recruiting additional sales professionals to grow the business rapidly. The company recently announced the appointment of Joe Jones as New South Wales state manager.
