Thomas Duryea Logicalis acquires Melbourne Microsoft partner CNI

Thomas Duryea Logicalis has acquired Microsoft partner CNI for an undisclosed amount as it bolsters its Azure capabilities.

The Melbourne-headquartered IT service provider, who was also a finalist in this year’s CRN Impact Awards, will enable TDL to compete more effectively in building and deploying Azure-based hybrid cloud applications.

As part of the deal, CNI managing director Toby Alcock will join TDL as chief technology officer for public cloud while Steven Buhagiar will assume the role of national practice lead for cloud services.

“This acquisition repositions TDL as a tier one Microsoft cloud solution provider and a leading provider of Azure solutions in Australia,” TDL chief executive Michael Chanter said.

“Moreover, it expands our Microsoft and cloud portfolios capabilities in transformation services to allow our customers to focus on innovation and better end-user experiences.”

TDL said the addition of CNI’s Azure experience, IP and Microsoft Tier 1 CSP certification will benefit its Azure business, and that the company has established and proven capability to securely design Azure cloud services for migration and ongoing management, governance and optimisation.

“CNI are thrilled to be a part of TDL and the broader Logicalis group,” Alcock said.

“Both TDL and CNI were established around the same time two decades ago and it has been great to see TDL grow its customer base over this time.”

CNI entered the CRN Impact Awards with its collaboration with Victoria's Department of Health and Human Services on a new Victorian Housing Register, which helps families in need apply for social housing assistance easier.
