Logicalis has acquired 100 percent of Melbourne-headquartered Thomas Duryea Consulting for an undisclosed sum.

In an email to customers, Thomas Duryea chief executive Andrew Thomas wrote the merger would "create one of Australia’s greatest integrators".

"This will provide us with an increased service capability, especially in the fields of networking and security."

Logicalis is owned by Datatec, a global IT giant listed on the Johannesburg and London Stock Exchanges that also owns major distributor Westcon Group.

Datatec chief executive Jens Montanana said: "Thomas Duryea's professional services capabilities in cloud and data centre are complementary to Logicalis Australia allowing for a broader portfolio of ICT solutions to market."

Both IT solution providers have appeared on the CRN Fast50, with Logicalis Australia debuting last year at No.41 with revenue of $72.4 million and Thomas Duryea appearing in 2009 and 2010.
