ASX-listed software developer TechnologyOne will extend its Student Management System used by Australian Universities, within the VET sector.
A new bill currently being considered by the House of Representatives could see TAFE organisations become eligible for a HELP scheme, similar to FEE-HELP, enabling TAFE students to defer their tuition costs.
This would see the regulatory reporting requirements for the TAFE and VET sector become more closely aligned with Higher Education institutions.
These developments increase the requirement for TAFE to have sophisticated and automated student management systems, prompting TechnologyOne to broaden its student management offering within this sector, said TechnologyOne executive chairman, Adrian Di Marco (pictured).
“An analysis of the TAFE sector requirements indicates that our solution delivers the functionality needed to support the sector,” he said.
According to DiMarco study package architecture of the TechnologyOne Student Management System makes our solution an ideal fit for the TAFE sector.
“The design of our curriculum management module [the core of the system] takes into consideration the experience gained from the development of the Queensland TAFE solution and provides the inherent flexibility to easily handle the TAFE modules and elements of competency,” Di Marco said.
TechnologyOne has worked with TAFE Queensland and the development of its College Administration System, to the development of a vocational placement system for the Office of Technical and Further Education in Victoria. It has also partnered with Curtin University of Technology in 1997 to develop TechnologyOne’s Student Management System.
