Sybase signs Avnet as first Australian distie

Enterprise software management vendor Sybase Australia has signed a distribution agreement with Avnet Technology Solutions.

Sybase intends to strengthen its market reach in business intelligence and enterprise mobility with the deal.

Sybase's existing and new partners will benefit from Avnet's experience in sales, marketing, training, financial and technical support, the companies have claimed.

"Avnet brings a breadth and depth of capabilities that help partners accelerate growth and realise cost efficiencies," said Dereck Daymond, managing director at Sybase Australia and New Zealand.

For Sybase to expand its reach in business intelligence and enterprise mobility markets, Daymond said, "we must build a larger channel through a solutions distributor."

Gavin Lawless, general manager of Avnet Technology Solutions Australia said the company is "very pleased" with the new partnership.
