Avalanche Technology Group, the Australian and New Zealand distributor of the AVG range of Internet Security solutions and FinePrint pdfFactory, has moved to larger premises to accommodate its growing business.
The Avalanche distributor has seen strong sales growth in Grisoft’s AVG Internet security products, with staff numbers doubling from seven to 14 in the past 12 months.
Peter Cameron, managing director at Avalanche said there will now be room for more appointments.
“We are in the processes of hiring someone to help look after our resellers. We also want new marketing personnel and a business development manager for the Pacific Island region,” he said.
Cameron said the distributor through the AVG product range is becoming better known in the market.
“The uptake of the product range has become phenomenal with resellers approaching us to sell it,” he said.
Cameron believes the money to be made in AVG products is selling the product suites in bulk, rather then one or two box products.
“If they only sell one or two they won’t make much money at all. The more they sell the more the level of discounts goes up. Resellers can get a 40 percent discount off the recommended retail products and then make around 60 percent margin,” he said.
Cameron said the free AVG product only offers basic protection and home users were willing to pay for full box suites because of the free downloads.
