Unified communications (UC) company Polycom is chasing growth opportunities with the opening of an office in Brisbane.
The California-based company decided to open a Brisbane office off the back of the strong adoption of unified communications technology.
Prior to the Brisbane office opening, Polycom employees worked remotely from home.
Polycom ANZ managing director Gary Denman said: "Our Queensland business has been growing year on year and there is definitely an appetite from local businesses for video collaboration solutions."
The new Brisbane office features a Solutions Centre that will help Polycom showcase its UC technologies and offer support to channel partners by helping them develop go-to market strategies. It will be led by regional sales manager Gavin Douglas.
Among the industries targeted by the company are mining, healthcare, education, legal and the public sector.
Polycom expects growth in the region to climb at a compound annual growth rate of 13.9 percent between 2012 and 2019, based on research conducted by Frost and Sullivan. The company has 78 offices in 31 countries and more than 7,000 channel partners globally.
