According to Eric Krieger, country manager, A/NZ, (pictured), the acquisition is expected to close in Q4, after which it will be available locally.
“This acquisition will allow Secure Computing to deliver next-generation firewall technology that enforces business policy by enabling visibility and control over applications and user access, as opposed to the current paradigm of protocols and IP addresses,” said Krieger.
He said the announcement would concern all channel partners, resellers and distributors because Securify provides identity-based monitoring solutions offering more capabilities.
It claims the firewall products will enable organisations to monitor and control traffic going in and out of their network.
As well as identifying intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS), defence against threats and protection of data.
Securify is a US based company which has a ‘plug-and-play’ appliance to monitor network traffic. Its solution means it can identify and alert organisations to out-of-policy behaviour.
It can also initiate blocks in routers, switches and firewalls.
“Securify sells primarily into federal government and other high-assurance markets, including financial services,” said Buck French, CEO Securify.
“This is consistent with Secure Computing’s core firewall market, and will provide a significant opportunity to deliver complementary value across existing and future customers both domestically and internationally,” he added.
