The Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV) has partnered with Netgear to resell its home networking and smart home products members across Victoria.
The automobile insurer will start selling Netgear’s Arlo Pro 2 Smart Security camera as its first offering on May to its home insurance members, together with some promotional offerings.
“With an RACV member in approximately 60 percent of households across Victoria, it is important we cater to a variety of needs within the home,” RACV Home executive general manager Susan Allen said.
“The evolution of smart home technology has meant we were keen to find a partner with an established background in this space. Our members may want to use the Arlo Camera to check-in on their children when they get home from school or keep a watchful eye on their pet throughout their workday.”
The camera is weather-resistant and wireless which can be placed anywhere in or around the home, with 1080p video with pinch-to-zoom capability, a plug-in solar panel power option, and support for voice services like Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
It also boasts a 130-degree field of view, night vision and advanced motion detection technology.
“We envisage the Arlo Pro 2 being really popular and are excited to partner with Netgear, as we continue to build our offerings in the home,” Allen said.
The RACV offers members a promotional service plan that includes an additional $129 of value in the first year after purchase, with home insurance members getting further incentives.
