Riverbed recruits channel manager from NetApp

Performance optimisation vendor Riverbed Technology has appointed Charles de Jesus as its new ANZ channel director.

De Jesus (pictured below) departed NetApp last month, where he had been channel development manager for almost two years. CRN understands he started at Riverbed this week.

“Charles has the industry expertise and local market knowledge to lead the next phase of Riverbed’s channel strategy in ANZ," said Riverbed ANZ vice president Keith Buckley.

Buckley himself only started at Riverbed in February, after moving on from an equivalent position at Intel Security.

The channel director role has been newly created, with Buckley's predecessor Ian Raper having performed the channel manager work himself.

"Last month we made updates to our partner program... Charles will be pivotal to the education and enablement of our partners as we continue to build embedded solutions and services programs, drive joint engagement, and accelerate repeatable revenue in the smaller enterprise and mid-markets," Buckley said.

A NetApp spokesperson said that while the company is sad to see de Jesus depart, it is "excited" to see him take the next step in his career.

“Charles has played an instrumental role in supporting the channel business in NSW, and it’s a testament to his capabilities that he has progressed his career into a leadership role at Riverbed,” said the spokesperson.

According to LinkedIn, de Jesus has also had stints at Avaya, Optus and Nortel. He even spent a year in the distribution layer, as commercial director at Westcon.

San Francisco-headquartered Riverbed is distributed by Distribution Central in Australia.
