It claims it works independently and external to the database and captures activity directly from memory and stores this in a data warehouse.
This enables customers to see what happens when a problem occurs and isolates glitches to specific users or programs.

"Performance Analysis provides the depth, scope, history, granularity, and centralised management our clients need to effectively monitor and performance tune their databases.
“The tool has allowed us to performance tune over 800 client databases to date," Leadham added.
Quest claims Performance Analysis collects up to 400 times per second to provide accurate data for troubleshooting.
