Budding telco reseller Planet Tel has acquired Sydney telco wholesaler ISPhone, the second wholesale business acquisition for the company in the last three months.
ISPhone was started in 1997 and owns and manages its own business grade VoiP network. It is a sister company of ISPhone Inc. in the US, which was founded in 1997. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ISPhone provides wholesale VoiP services, hosted IPBX, PSTN, ISDN, 13/1300/1800 and 3G mobile voice and data to resellers. The company offers hardware, installation, support and billing.
The company merged with Buroserv Australia in 2011, which added fixed line, PSTN, ISDN, mobile and wireless services.
In June, Planet Tel announced the acquisition of Via IP, a wholesaler of MPLS, hosted voice, data and Internet, mobility and cloud services. Via IP lists Microsoft, Cisco, EMC, Polycom and Veeam among its partners, and lists Telstra, AAPT and TPG as suppliers, among others.
Planet Tel was founded in 2009 and is based in North Sydney, offering fixed line, data, mobile and hardware based telco services.
