Dimension Data has promoted Scott Petty to a UK-based global executive for services role, appointing Ken Westwood as chief Australian operating officer in his place.
Petty has been chief operating officer at the Australian arm of South Africa-based integrator Dimension Data since November 2001.
He joined the company in 1991 as a senior professional services consultant and has also had a stint as CIO.
Petty would leave for London with his family, and expected to focus on driving services growth for DiData around the world, with special emphasis on Europe and the US but also including Australia.
“Improvement of service delivery efficiencies throughout the Dimension Data group will also be on the agenda,” the company said.
“Scott admits to two points of apprehension in this role. He doesn't want his two sons supporting England in the cricket and he is not looking forward to riding his Vespa in London weather,” the company said.
Solutions general manager Ken Westwood would take over Petty's chief operating officer role for DiData Australia.
“Ken takes on responsibility for all operational aspects of Dimension Data Australia's business, providing strategy and accurate forecasting performance analysis,” the company said.
He would also oversee company profitability and negotiate major sales deals, the company said.
Westwood joined the Australian subsidiary in April, from contact centre specialist Touchbase. At Touchbase, Westwood was Australia and New Zealand managing director.
He previously worked for a range of telecommunications industry companies, including Avaya, Lucent, AT&T, NEC, Nortel and Telstra, the company said.
