Perth reseller enters the $100m club

Kinetic IT has become the latest Aussie reseller to crack $100 million of revenue.

The Perth-based integrator's revenue rose 27 percent from $83 million to $103 million for the year ending 30 June 2013.

Gross profit was up 35 percent from $30.1 million to $40.8 million, and net profits increased 39 percent from $8.4 million to $11.7 million.

The growth spurt was attributed to a swathe of contracts signed within the last 18 months.

In March, the company was awarded a five-year contract with international oil and gas company Inpex to provide a broad range of IT services, including remote desktop management and infrastructure services.

In January, Kinetic IT was awarded a contract by WA's Water Corporation. The five-year agreement involved provisioning front-end hardware and managing back-end services, such as network management and data centre operations.

Other accounts include St John Ambulance, WA Department of Health and Carlton United Breweries.

However, there was a sour note, as the company was informed its existing managed services contract with Melbourne Water would not be renewed when it expires in January of 2014.

In its ASIC filing, Kinetic said "the potential impact would not be known".

Most of its business came from the "outsourcing of IT functions, the implementation of IT management tools and the provision of management training in IT infrastructure", according to a company filing with ASIC.

Last week, UXC Connect revealed that it had won the contract with Melbourne Water.

Kinetic IT would not comment when contacted by CRN.

Kinetic IT has 846 employees across six national offices located in WA, Victoria, NT, NSW SA and Queensland.
